* Last week: Australia’s Robert Allenby won the Nissan Open in the largest playoff in PGA Tour history, holing a five-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole. Allenby beat Jeff Sluman, Dennis Paulson, Toshi Izawa, Brandel Chamblee and Bob Tway.

* Notes: Allenby is 7-0 in playoffs worldwide, with all three of his PGA Tour victories coming in extra holes. . . . Third-ranked Ernie Els tops the field, along with three-time winner Norman, Allenby, Furyk, Davis Love III, Vijay Singh, David Duval and Steve Elkington. Jack Nicklaus also is entered. . . .
