Guild to Showcase Award Nominees in TV Movie Directing

The Directors Guild of America will host “Meet the Nominees: Movies for Television,” a free symposium featuring the guild’s nominees for outstanding directorial achievement in TV movies, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the guild’s Hollywood headquarters, 7920 Sunset Blvd.

Nominees scheduled to participate are Jeff Bleckner (ABC’s “The Beach Boys: An American Family”), Martha Coolidge (HBO’s “If These Walls Could Talk 2: ‘1972’ ”), Martin Pasetta Jr. (CBS’ “Fail Safe”) and Joseph Sargent (HBO’s “For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story”). Additional nominees Kirk Browning (Showtime’s “Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman”) and Stephen A. Frears (CBS’ “Fail Safe”) will not be in attendance.

Short clips from the nominated directors’ films will be screened at the beginning of the symposium, which will be moderated by director Joan Tewkesbury.
