Donald D. McDaniel, a truck driver and longtime resident of Ventura County, died Monday at Ventura County Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was 49.
He was born June 23, 1951, in Riverside and had been a Ventura County resident for 43 years.
He was a truck driver at the Newton Building Material Co. and worked in that industry for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local Union No. 186 of Ventura.
McDaniel was also an Army veteran and an avid bodybuilder.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Brenda; sons Aaron and Jason; mother Darlene Seger; and brothers Jimmy, Jack and Ronald McDaniel, all of Ventura; grandmother Lucile Ross and sister Lana McDaniel, both of Ojai.
Funeral services are scheduled Monday at 11 a.m. at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura, the Rev. John Cherrie of the Ventura Missionary Church officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ventura County Medical Center, Intensive Care Unit, 3291 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, CA 93003.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
