Loyola Marymount Reaches Tournament Final

Loyola Marymount reached its first West Coast Conference tournament final with a 73-56 victory over San Francisco at San Diego. Taryn Reynolds scored 19 points to lead Loyola Marymount (21-8) past San Francisco (13-16) and into Sunday’s championship game against top-seeded St. Mary’s (24-5), a 68-56 winner over Portland (14-15). Loyola Marymount and St. Mary’s split their regular-season series.

In games involving top 25 teams: No. 1 Tennessee (29-1) extended its winning streak to 18 games with an 82-52 victory over Alabama (18-11) in the Southeastern Conference tournament at Memphis, Tenn. In the quarterfinals, Tennessee plays No. 15 Vanderbilt (20-8), a 70-58 winner over No. 16 Louisiana State (19-10) as Jillian Danker scored all of her 18 points on three-point baskets. . . . Also in the SEC tournament: The Miller sisters, Coco and Kelly, combined to score 31 points to lead No. 6 Georgia (24-5) to an 80-61 victory over Mississippi (17-11). In the quarterfinals, Georgia will play Arkansas (19-11), a 78-69 winner over No. 11 Florida (23-5) as Shameka Christon had 23 points and 11 rebounds. . . . Georgia Schweitzer scored 27 points, making 14 of 16 free throws, to lead No. 4 Duke (26-3) to a 75-68 overtime victory over Wake Forest (11-17) in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament at Greensboro, N.C. Olivia Dardy had a career-high 30 points for Wake Forest. In the semifinals, Duke plays North Carolina (15-13), a 79-64 winner over Georgia Tech (14-14). . . . Katie Douglas had 21 points to lead No. 8 Purdue (25-5) to an 81-61 victory over Ohio State (17-11) in the Big Ten Conference tournament at Grand Rapids, Mich. In the semifinals, Purdue plays Michigan (18-10), a 66-60 winner over No. 19 Penn State (19-9) as Raina Goodlow had 17 points and 14 rebounds. Also in the Big Ten tournament: Allison Curtin scored 20 points for Illinois (16-14) in an 80-68 victory over No. 20 Wisconsin (18-9). In the semifinals, Illinois plays No. 23 Iowa (18-9), an 81-76 winner over Indiana (19-10).
