Irvine printer maker Printronix Inc. said fiscal fourth-quarter net income and revenue are trailing results from a year ago amid a soft global economy.

The company said in a press release that it continues its restructuring efforts but warned that it cannot guarantee a return to profitability during the quarter because of economic conditions, and expects revenue to fall.

In last year’s final three months, ended March 31, the company earned $2.5 million, or 38 cents a share, on sales of $48.4 million. Its stock gained 44 cents Wednesday to close at $7.44 on Nasdaq.
