South Florida Athletic Director Paul Griffin has resigned amid allegations of racism in the women’s program and attempts to cover it up.

The university is facing lawsuits charging discrimination by former women’s coach Jerry Ann Winters. Last year, Dione Smith became the first of eight players to sue, claiming black players were segregated, demeaned and denied equal treatment while the university did nothing about it.
