Voting Equipment
* The latest estimates put the cost of installing state-of-the-art voting equipment in every polling place in the nation at around $8 billion, yet many counties say they cannot afford to provide this equipment to their voters. I would like to suggest to President Bush that he subtract $8 billion from his $1.6-trillion tax cut to fully fund the provision of accurate and foolproof (no pun intended) equipment to the American public. What better use for “the people’s money” than to strengthen the people’s democracy?
