* Georgena Nix; Lifelong Ventura County Resident
Georgena Nix, a lifelong county resident and homemaker, died Thursday at a Ventura convalescent hospital following a brief illness. She was 97.
She was born June 23, 1903, in Ojai.
Nix did volunteer work for Help of Ojai, RSVP and Senior Nutrition.
She is survived by daughters Velma Prader of Camarillo and Lillie Walton of Pahrump, Nev.; a brother, Ralph Hansen of Upper Ojai; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service is scheduled at 11 a.m. March 31 at the Chapel of the Pines in Oak View.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Assn. of Ventura County, 2500 E. Las Posas Road, Camarillo, CA 93010.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
