Hart Takes Two From Santa Margarita

Chris Giordano’s run-scoring double capped a three-run seventh inning that gave Hart High a 4-3 victory over Santa Margarita and a sweep of a nonleague baseball doubleheader Wednesday at Blair High in Pasadena.
Eric Posthumus (2-0) allowed five hits and struck out seven in six innings, and Chris Gagnon was two for two and scored two runs as the Indians (7-0) won the first game, 6-1.
Giordano drove in three runs with four hits in the two games, including two doubles.
Bill Susdorf got the last three outs of the second game to save it for Phil Tugnetti (3-0).
Poly 4, Sylmar 3--The Parrots scored four runs in the third inning of a nonleague game at Sylmar (4-2).
Zack Sims hit a one-out solo home run and Alfredo Gomez hit a two-out, two-run single. The Parrots’ other run was walked in.
Eddie Baeza (1-1) pitched a seven-hitter and struck out seven for Poly (2-3-1).
Grant 2, Monroe 0--Jeremy Harrison (1-1) pitched a one-hitter and struck out 10 for the Lancers in a nonleague game at Grant.
L.A. Baptist 12, Grace Brethren 2--Brian Myers hit a grand slam in a six-run fourth inning for the Knights (4-2) in a first-round victory in the L.A. Baptist tournament.
