Smith Micro to Serve Verizon Customers

The wireless and broadband unit of Smith Micro Software Inc. entered an agreement to offer advanced wireless data services to Verizon Wireless customers.

In a press release Thursday, Verizon Wireless said the development agreement will simplify mobile computing for its wireless customers and reduce overall technical support costs.

Verizon Wireless was formed by the combination of the U.S. wireless businesses of Bell Atlantic Corp. and GTE Corp.

Smith Micro Software, based in Aliso Viejo, develops and markets wireless communication and utility software products.
