Knights Fall in Arizona Tournament

Ashley Monceaux hit a two-run double in the fifth and scored a run in the seventh to lead Tucson Flowing Wells to a 6-1 victory over Foothill in the championship game of the Tournament of Champions at Bullhead City, Ariz.

Foothill had opportunities to score early but came up short after three double plays by Flowing Wells’ defense.

The Knights loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth, but the next three batters flied out and Foothill came away scoreless.

Kristen Mann hit a first-inning home run to center field for Foothill. It was the first run scored against Flowing Wells in the tournament.

Foothill pitcher Elizabeth Bendig was the tournament MVP. She gave up two hits in a 3-1 victory over Canyon in the semifinals and went three for three with two runs. Foothill is top-ranked in Orange County.
