A Bowl of Cool Thai Noodles

A green awning outside Sanamluang Cafe in Hollywood’s Thai Town advertises “the best noodles in town,” so cash in on this specialty with a takeout dinner. The menu offers 23 noodle dishes, most available either dry or in soup. There’s pad Thai, of course, but why not try something different, such as general’s noodle: slim yellow egg noodles combined with barbecued pork, minced pork, fried shrimp and bean sprouts. Dressed with fish sauce, soy sauce, garlic and sugar but no chiles, it’s one Thai dish that isn’t spicy.
