* Jazz--The new “Ventura Jazz Concerts” series, presented by San Buenaventura Friends of the Library, will open March 29 with the Theo Saunders Trio at Ventura College Theater. Show time: 8 p.m. A prepaid $10 membership to San Buenaventura Friends of the Library will include one concert ticket. A prepaid family membership, $15, will include two concert tickets. Memberships must be purchased in advance to receive concert tickets. Tickets purchased at the door will be $15. The theater is on Loma Vista Road between Ashwood Avenue and Day Road. * Magic Show--Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ventura County will host “The Magic of the Match” in Ventura on March 30 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the mentoring program in the county. The show will be held at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 482 E. Santa Clara St., and feature Magic Castle magician Shawn McMasters, plus a local deejay. $35. Information: 485-6114, Ext. 647.
* Air Show--The 2001 Point Mugu Air Show, March 30-April 1, will feature a variety of military aircraft, including the F-14 Tomcat, FA-18 Hornet and F-117A Stealth Fighter. Gates open at noon March 30, with flight demonstrations beginning at 1 p.m. On March 31 and April 1, gates will open at 8 a.m., with flight demonstrations beginning at 10. * Portrayal--The Ojai Valley Land Conservancy will host a one-man performance by Lee Stetson in “The Spirit of John Muir” on March 30 at 7 p.m. at Thacher School’s amphitheater, 5025 Thacher Road, Ojai. $8 per person, $16 for families. Stetson will also portray Muir during a special nature walk March 31 in the Ojai area. $20 per person, $40 per family. Information or reservations: 646-0251.
* Celtic--The Camarillo Celtic Festival will be held March 31, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., at Constitution Park, Paseo Camarillo and North Carmen Drive. Activities include continuous music, dancing, food, arts and crafts, children’s games and more. Free. Information: 732-9671.
* The Ojai Renaissance Faire & Shakespeare at the Lake will be held March 31 and April 1 at Lake Casitas, near Ojai. Activities will include battle reenactments, strolling minstrels, theatrical works and medieval games.
