Local extreme sports fans, accustomed to getting their viewing fix on cable television, will have a chance for first-person looks at ESPN’s B3 (Bikes, Boards and Blades) event today through Sunday in the Edison Field parking lot.

The competitions in bicycle stunt, skateboarding and aggressive in-line skating will pit some of the world’s top action sports professionals, vying for invitations to August’s X Games in Philadelphia.

Among the athletes expected to compete are Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, Bucky Lasek, Bob Burnquist, Jay Miron and Mat Hoffman.
