Mary E. Fullerton; 29-Year County Resident

Mary Eileen Fullerton, a Ventura homemaker, died Tuesday at her Ventura home following a lengthy illness. She was 83.

She was born Feb. 27, 1918, in Toledo, Ohio. The 27th of the month was very significant in Fullerton’s life. Along with her birth and death on that day of the month, she married James Fullerton on May 27, 1950.

She was a 29-year Ventura County resident after moving from Hawaii, where she lived for three years. She was also active with the Navy Relief in Hawaii.

According to family members, she enjoyed home projects like crafts, sewing and painting, and she was a good cook. She enjoyed volunteer work and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ventura chapter No. 79, serving as worthy matron in 1985.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Priscilla Anton of Belfair, Wash.; sisters Mildred Green of Columbus, Ohio, and Ellen Smallman of Toledo; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled at 3 p.m. today at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura, which is handling the arrangements. The Rev. Jim Wells and the Order of the Eastern Star, Ventura chapter No. 79, will officiate. Burial will be at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.
