The Top 5
The top five “interviews” on the PGA Tour (entirely subjective, of course), based on accessibility, thoughtfulness, good quotes and certain intangibles, such as not spitting on the reporter’s notebook:
1) Nick Price: Once took Dave Hackenberg of the Toledo Blade out to dinner after an interview, even though he didn’t know the scope of Hackenberg’s appetite because he had just met him. Price still maintained good humor.
2) Paul Azinger: Stand-up guy could be doing stand-up comedy.
3) Brad Faxon: Never met a reporter he didn’t like . . . or at least couldn’t work with.
4) Ernie Els: Brutally honest, never takes himself too seriously.
5) Duffy Waldorf: What’s not to like about a wine aficionado?
