A community forum will be held Saturday to discuss California’s energy crisis and its effect on residents.
City, school and business leaders will discuss the challenges they face in meeting electricity and natural gas demands this summer.
Assemblywoman Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara) will provide an update on the power crisis. Nancy Williams, spokeswoman for Southern California Edison, will talk about conservation and rebate programs.
The forum will also focus on renewable energy sources and “green power” alternatives tested in Santa Barbara, Oakland and other cities.
The event, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Ventura County and the Ojai Chamber of Commerce, begins at 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Ojai. For information, call 640-8430.
