Feuer Says Delgadillo Is Ducking Debates
Councilman Mike Feuer on Wednesday accused his opponent for city attorney, Deputy Mayor Rocky Delgadillo, of avoiding televised debates in their June 5 runoff contest.
“Rocky Delgadillo is trying to hide his inexperience and lack of vision from the public by ducking virtually every debate to which we have been invited,” Feuer said in a statement.
There have been at least two invitations to appear together on local cable and public television programs, Feuer said.
Delgadillo campaign spokeswoman Kristina Scott said scheduling problems, not any reluctance on the candidate’s part, have made it difficult to find opportunities for televised appearances.
She said the rivals are scheduled to debate twice next week--Wednesday before the business-oriented Central City Assn. downtown and Thursday at a Seniors for Action meeting in Van Nuys.
