Grandma Too Cagey for Her Own Good

An 85-year-old woman is accused of stealing a winning lottery ticket worth $100,000 from her granddaughter and the granddaughter’s co-workers.
Vera Stanturf was arrested and charged with felony theft, said Sheriff Mike Johnstone of Sperry, Iowa.
Des Moines County authorities say Stanturf stole the Powerball ticket from its hiding place under a birdcage in the home she shares with her granddaughter, Melony Bergquist.
