The Stanislaus County Sheriff has joined the search for Chandra Ann Levy, the college student from Modesto who disappeared in Washington, D.C.
Two sheriff’s detectives interviewed the 24-year-old student’s family and friends, and a third detective flew to Washington on Friday, a sheriff’s spokesman said Saturday.
Levy, who was to have graduated Friday from USC, vanished in Washington, where she had completed an internship and was to return to California. Her parents reported her missing last week after they had not heard from her. Police said they have few clues as to what happened to Levy, who was last seen April 30.
