Thieves Gain Entry by Posing as DWP Workers
Times staff and wire reports
Los Angeles police are warning residents about thieves who pretend to be Department of Water and Power workers or tree trimmers.
The thieves ask to enter residents’ property, and while one distracts the occupant talking about the work supposedly to be done, the other burglarizes the home, said Officer La Donna Cissell. Victims have lost heirlooms and even life savings.
Residents are advised to ask for identification before letting anyone in.
