Seniors Request Computer Classes

As part of a plan to expand the Fullerton Senior Multi-Service Center, officials asked those who use the center for ideas on what to include. Suggestions from more than 350 seniors included health and wellness classes, medical insurance counseling, music classes, and a place to dance.
But No. 1 on the seniors’ list? Computer classes.
“We’ve got a couple of old computers that people play around with,” said Dick Waltz , president of the Senior Club, “but we don’t have room for classes. We’ve got a bunch that want to get into it.”
In fact, center director John Clements said that since that survey, he has discovered from other national groups dealing with seniors, including AARP, that 70% of seniors nationwide rank learning computers as a high priority.
