Five Schools Garner Blue Ribbon Awards
Five Orange County schools won National Blue Ribbon School Awards this year, one of the U.S. Department of Education’s most prestigious academic distinctions.
The campuses included two private schools, Our Lady Queen of Angels in Newport Beach and the Pegasus School in Huntington Beach, as well as three public schools, Harbor View Elementary in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, Malcom Elementary School in the Capistrano Unified School District and Montevideo Elementary School in the Saddleback Unified School District, according to Sen. Barbara Boxer’s (D-Calif.) office.
There were 264 Blue Ribbon School winners nationwide. Of those, 43 winners were from California.
