2 Separate Helicopter Accidents Kill 13
A military helicopter went down while airlifting bodies from an earlier copter accident, Philippine air officials said. The two crashes killed 13 people.
The first helicopter crashed early Friday into an expanse of fish farms on the western island of Palawan, about 375 miles southwest of Manila, Philippine Air Transportation Office Chief Adalberto Yap said. All six people aboard were killed.
The air force helicopter sent to transport the bodies crashed just after dark Friday, apparently after hitting utility lines, the military said. All seven people aboard were killed.
