Shopping Center Plan to Be Decided by Voters
Voters will decide the divisive issue of whether to allow Wal-Mart and other retailers to build near the scenic Kings River.
City Council members voted 3 to 0 Tuesday to sponsor a ballot referendum on the controversial issue after two of the members abstained from the vote because of conflicts of interest over land owned near the 68-acre site.
