What’s Your Sign?

Re “Murals Violate Local Residents’ Rights,” letter, Oct. 30: I would like to know who elected Ivan Finkle as the representative of “[w]e in this area.” I, too, happen to be a resident of Westwood, and I think the current McNeilly billboard is great! I also happen to believe that freedom of expression--in art as well as speech--is one of the fundamental attributes that sets our country apart from those who would seek to destroy our way of life. Even though I think Finkle is terribly wrong, I would rue the day that the ACLU wasn’t around to defend his right to speak up.
