Ventura County Dist. Atty. Michael D. Bradbury is hosting an open house today to celebrate renaming of the county’s victims’ assistance program to honor one of its founders.
State and county officials, judges, local police and residents will gather at the County Government Center from 5 to 7 p.m. to talk about services available through the Ellie Liston Crime Victim Assistance Program.
In 1979, Liston helped launch the district attorney-sponsored program, which provides support and advocacy services to victims of violent crime and their families.
Liston died last year after battling cancer. She was 62.
