$30,000 Reward Offered for Hate-Crime Killing

The Sheriff’s Department announced a $30,000 reward Wednesday for information leading to the capture of the gunman who killed an Egyptian American grocer in San Gabriel.
Adel Karas, 48, was killed on Sept. 15 in his store, the International Market, on East Las Tunas Drive. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the FBI are offering the joint $30,000 reward. The FBI is investigating the killing as a hate crime. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 or the FBI at (310) 477-6565.
