Port Hueneme Man Arrested After Chase

A Port Hueneme man who allegedly slashed his ex-girlfriend with a knife and then took her car was apprehended by Los Angeles police Saturday afternoon after a chase that began in Oxnard and ended in Encino.
Celso Ullegue Anciento, 42, was arrested after he crashed the car into a light pole, Oxnard Police Cmdr. Tom Chronister said. Anciento, who was taken to Ventura County Medical Center, sustained minor injuries, police said.
Anciento was booked on suspicion of felony domestic violence battery, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, vehicle theft, attempted kidnapping and felony evading, Chronister said.
He was being held at Ventura County Jail Saturday night on $300,000 bail, authorities said.
