Warner Restructuring Black Music Unit

Warner Bros. Records restructured its black music division, which has failed to deliver a major hit despite several executive shuffles in recent years.
The reorganization has resulted in the exit of Demmette Guidry, senior vice president in charge of the division.
Warner Bros., which releases albums by such acts as Enya and Disturbed, also is expected to reorganize internally so that one staff oversees the marketing of albums from all genres.
The move is being spearheaded by Tom Whalley, who took over as Warner Bros. Records’ chairman in August after the ouster this year of Warner veteran Russ Thyret.
