No Time for Luxury
Your articles on foie gras and truffles (“The Return of Fall’s Luxuries,” November 7), are incredibly ill-timed and lacking in common sense. The nation just suffered its worst attack. Last month’s unemployment figures showed that 400,000 jobs were lost. Upscale hotels and restaurants are shedding workers as fast as they can. Articles in your own paper show that people are turning to comfort food. Not luxury food. These articles would have been appropriate for November of 2000. Not today. Please approve articles that reflect the world we live in. Not the one you wished we lived in.
