Painter Burned in Santa Ana
A worker who was painting a house in Santa Ana suffered burns over 11% of his body Sunday when the lacquer he was using as a cleaner ignited, authorities said.
Gustavo Mendez, 29, of Inglewood was rushed to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in guarded condition Sunday evening.
He suffered first- and second-degree burns over his hands and face, but is expected to recover fully, hospital officials said.
