99 seats or less: I’ve been working on a one-woman show, so I love to go to little theaters and see these people who are courageous enough to put on a one-person show, which I think is such an astonishing event. Like Charles Nelson Reilly’s. I love going to those things. I like going to theaters in North Hollywood, and seeing what’s going on. Interact is a favorite. And the Falcon, in Burbank. And there’s a wonderful little place on Franklin Avenue, the Tamarind.

Ride the Rails: This is a very odd thing, but I happen to love the subway. It’s right next to my house. One of the great joys of my life is going downtown and finding really inexpensive, fun days with a friend of mine. We’ll go on the Metro to Hollywood and Vine and walk around there, into tourist places, which I love because they’re so corny and awful. And then we go downtown. We go to the Grand Central Market and have churros and Mexican or Chinese food. And then we go to Olvera Street and pick out glass pigs and things the glass blowers have. Before Angel’s Flight went down, we went up there and saw the dancing fountains at California Plaza. If we start early enough, we can take the Blue Line all the way to Long Beach and go to the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Digging In: If I’m home on Sunday, I go to my wonderful church, and then garden for the rest of the day. I’ll go to one of the wonderful nurseries out here in the Valley, Armstrong’s or another one, and pick up packets of stuff that are seasonal and start to plant. It’s great therapy for me, but I love gardening. And that came out of a desire, oddly, to find a hobby because I felt it was important to find something that I love to do. All my life I thought acting was my hobby, but then I realized that it was my livelihood.

Eating Out: I’m a big sushi lover. I love the sushi bar Hirosuke on Ventura Boulevard in Encino, near the Towne Center. I also love Indian food, and there’s an excellent place near there called Taj Mahal.
