Snow Snarls Traffic, Delights Ski Resorts

A Thanksgiving Day storm snarled traffic over the Sierra, but brought smiles to the faces of ski resort operators, who hope to open this holiday weekend.
About six inches of snow made chains mandatory for motorists on Interstate 80 over Donner Summit early Thursday. Chains or snow tires were required on U.S. 50 over Echo Summit west of Meyers, Calif., and on most other Sierra roads.
