Imelda Marcos Pleads Not Guilty to Corruption

Imelda Marcos, the widow of former Philippine dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos, pleaded not guilty to four counts of corruption involving transactions of $352 million.
She is accused of funneling the allegedly ill-gotten gains into private companies and foundations in Switzerland when she was minister of human settlements in the 1970s.
The charges are part of a much wider case against Imelda Marcos on allegations that she and her husband plundered the economy during his 20-year rule.
