Water District Gets Loan for Chlorination Gear
Moulton Niguel Water District, which serves southwest Orange County, will receive $1.7 million in low-cost state financing to install automatic chlorinating equipment at 27 of its reservoirs.
State officials said the new equipment will allow the district to increase the operating capacity of its reservoirs by 30%, conserve water and improve water quality within its service area.
The Moulton Niguel Water District distributes potable water, recycles water and treats waste water within a 23,000-acre area.
The loan is being made by the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank, a part of the governor’s Technology, Trade and Commerce Agency. Gov. Gray Davis announced the funding.
