Church Ban Dropped in Favor of Tighter Zoning
The county Board of Supervisors on Tuesday replaced a ban on new churches in Rowland Heights with tighter zoning restrictions to control development in the unincorporated area.
Supervisors last month barred new churches from opening in Rowland Heights for 45 days in response to complaints that congestion from houses of worship was depressing property values.
The board unanimously agreed Tuesday to let that ban lapse Dec. 7 and to replace it with more stringent requirements on parking, signage and height limits on new buildings.
