Top five tournaments on the Senior PGA Tour, according to an entirely unofficial poll of players ... strictly a popularity contest.

1. Bruno’s Memorial Classic, Birmingham, Ala. The place where you are treated like kings. The laundry gets done, there is child care, restaurant reservations are a foregone conclusion, and the food in the locker room is the best on the tour.

2. Countrywide Tradition, Scottsdale, Ariz. Desert Mountain’s clubhouse facilities are the best on tour. The locker room is the size of an airport and features two big fireplaces. Shrimp and crab claws served in the locker room. Tiffany player gifts.

3. Napa Championship, Silverado Resort, Napa. The spa is great, it’s convenient, the players can stay on the property. Tours of the vineyards and great restaurants always available.

4. 3M Championship, Blaine, Minn. May be the best-run tournament on the tour. Every whim is catered to. If you want it, you got it.

5. Novell Utah Showdown, Park City, Utah. One of the more family-oriented venues, set in the mountains. Housing is usually in the ski lodges. Players’ wives can choose between shopping trips and balloon rides.
