Support for Terror
In the days following the attack on New York and the declaration of war on terrorism across the globe, I received an e-mail from an old friend in Great Britain. He expressed heartfelt sorrow at the loss of life, saluted America’s resolve and wished all of us in the U.S. well. His last paragraph, however, took quite a different direction.
He lives in a town that has also experienced terrorist bombings. He hoped that people in New York who have so openly and financially supported the Irish Republican Army in the past might now have a new perspective on the support of groups that use terrorism to forward their political aims. An interesting observation.
