From Wire Reports

Oakland Raider kicker Sebastian Janikowski injured his head when he collapsed on a nightclub floor, San Francisco police said Tuesday.

Officers arrived at the Sno-Drift nightclub in San Francisco early Monday morning and found Janikowski, 23, lying on the floor with a cut over his right eye, according to a police report. Police said he was incoherent and “flailing wildly.”

Police said officers entered the club after being flagged down on the street by a Sno-Drift employee who told them someone might be overdosing on GHB, commonly known as the date-rape drug.

An ambulance was called and Janikowski was taken to a hospital, police said. He attended practice later on Monday, the Contra Costa Times reported.

Police said Janikowski’s roommate, Jay Hoffman, said Janikowski had been drinking all night, but had not taken any drugs.

Hoffman told police that Janikowski had met a woman at the club who he thought was taking GHB, a colorless, odorless drug that can cause a person to lose consciousness within 20 minutes. Hoffman said the woman, whom he couldn’t identify, might have slipped the drug into Janikowski’s drink, police said.

Other witnesses at the club said they saw Janikowski take the drug voluntarily, police said.

Janikowski, who was acquitted in April on charges of possessing GHB in Tallahassee, Fla., couldn’t immediately be reached. Neither could a Raider spokesman.

Dewayne Tully, a spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department, said the district attorney’s office will determine if charges will be filed.

Receiver Terry Glenn has returned to the New England Patriots, ending a four-week suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

Coach Bill Belichick said he hasn’t decided if Glenn will play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.

Glenn left the team’s training camp in August after learning of the league’s action and was suspended for the season by the Patriots. An arbitrator overturned the suspension and ruled that Glenn could return after the fourth game.
