L.A. to Help Replace Charity’s Stolen Items

A week after burglars stole $20,000 worth of tools, computers and other equipment from a Habitat for Humanity housing construction site in Pacoima, the Los Angeles City Council took steps Wednesday to provide the charity with replacements.
The council directed all city construction managers to identify any surplus tools and equipment that could be donated to the charity, which is building 53 homes for low-income residents in Pacoima.
