Bush Advisor Rice Reaches Out to Arabs
President Bush’s national security advisor, Condoleezza Rice, used an interview on Al Jazeera TV to reach out to Arabs in the Middle East in an effort to repair the United States’ image there.
“The president of the United States has said that our war on terrorism is not a war against Islam,” she said. “It is not a war against the Arab people. It is a war against evil people who would hijack the Palestinian cause.”
Rice reiterated Bush’s support for the eventual establishment of a Palestinian state.
She also warned Iraq and Syria against sponsoring terrorism or threatening the United States.
