New Korean-English Hymnal to Be Released
The United Methodist Publishing House is scheduled to release a new Korean-English hymnal next month.
The hymnal is meant to support bilingual worship and help congregations meet the needs of the growing numbers of Koreans attending Christian churches.
The volume, called “Come, Let Us Worship,” was developed by a committee of representatives from the United Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The panel began work on the volume more than three years ago.
Each denomination will have a version of the book with its own worship resources, but the same hymns will be in both.
The volume will include more recent hymns, and a Korean translation explaining official rituals.
The 590-page book also will be a focus of a worship and music conference in Los Angeles starting Jan. 21.
