A Commercial Medium

In my opinion, Brian Lowry’s article (“And Now, a Word From Our Anchor,” Oct. 14) is right on point. My wife still can’t understand how I can question the integrity of Michael Jackson, just because he reads advertising copy during his program. But, it doesn’t end there; he personally endorses and recommends some of the products, be they diet schemes or the insurance salesman who claims to be able to create multimillion-dollar estates.
At the least, people like Mr. Jackson could have the decency to begin and end the reading with the statement, “This is a paid commercial message.”
