Kids Carry On
Re “31 Capitol Staffers Exposed to Anthrax,” Oct. 18: What a crazy and mixed time we live in. In assigning a letter-writing project to my 12th-grade government students, who would have thought that by the time it was due they would be afraid of being suspected as terrorists for writing to their elected leaders! The letters are being sent, and I hope that they will be read and answered. In addition to their letters, my students are engaged in a mock Congress. Does anyone find it odd that my kids were continuing their work in “Congress” while our House members in Washington were not? I do!
