Events canceled or that the U.S. has withdrawn teams from:

CANOE/KAYAKING

Slalom world championships on the Ocoee River in Tennessee, scheduled for Sept. 13, were canceled.

FIELD HOCKEY

U.S. women’s team withdrew from World Cup qualifier in France, Sept. 11-30.

FIGURE SKATING

U.S. withdrew skaters from Karl Shaefer Memorial in Vienna, Oct. 10-13, and from all eight Junior Grand Prix events throughout the season. Canada withdrew skaters from ISU Junior Grand Prix in Ostrava, Czech Republic, Sept. 27-30.

GYMNASTICS

U.S. withdrew women’s rhythmic team from World Championships in Madrid, Spain, mid-October.

Japan withdrew entire artistic team from World Championships, in Ghent, Belgium this weekend.

ICE HOCKEY

U.S. women’s national team withdrew from Four Nations Cup tournament in Finland, early November.

SHORT TRACK SPEEDSKATING

U.S. and Canada withdrew teams from first two World Cup events of the season, at Changchun, China, Sept. 21-23, and Nobeyama, Japan, Sept. 28-30.

WEIGHTLIFTING

U.S. team withdrew from World Championships in Antalya, Turkey, Nov. 3-11, except for Jackie Berube, who will compete in 58 kg class.

WRESTLING

World championships scheduled for Sept. 26-29 in New York were postponed and moved. Tournament was split into separate Freestyle and Greco-Roman tournaments to be held in Bulgaria and Greece, respectively. Some U.S. athletes withdrew because the new date conflicts with academic commitments.
