Classic post-and-beam design characterizes this house, built in 1960. During the 1980s, a second-story master suite was added for then-owners Mimi and Bernie West, producer of such TV shows as “All in the Family,” “The Jeffersons,” “Three’s a Crowd” and “Three’s Company.”
By the time entertainment lawyer Scott E. Schwimer and investor Michael H. Epstein, former chairman of a telecommunications company, bought it in 1996, however, the house needed work.
“Its bones were beautiful, but the house needed remodeling from head to toe,” Schwimer said. “We did a major remodel.”
About this house: The home was designed by Richard Dorman, who was known for his post-and-beam houses in the area. Another architect, Harry Neuman, designed the second-floor addition. The expanded plan provides for a large amount of wall space for art. The house also has a two-story, glass-walled space with city-to-ocean as well as valley views.
