Gasoline Prices Continue to Fall

Gasoline prices continued to slide lower, with the U.S. average price for self-serve regular gasoline falling 3 cents a gallon to $1.24, the Energy Information Administration said.
The national pump price, based on a weekly survey of more than 900 gasoline stations, is down 31 cents from a year ago and has not been this low since the week of Nov. 8, 1999, the EIA said. The average price for gasoline has declined 29 cents a gallon since the Sept. 11 attacks, as a decline in petroleum demand has led to plenty of fuel supplies and cheaper crude oil.
The California average fell 3.6 cents to $1.47 a gallon. The Los Angeles average dropped 4.1 cents to $1.34.
