Jeff Moorad, first baseman Mo Vaughn’s new agent, met with Angel executives and said among other things he did not discuss a trade demand for his client.

“The purpose of our meeting was to discuss Mo’s relationship with the Angels going forward,” Moorad said. “We had a positive discussion, and we are going to talk again later in the week.

“At this point, Mo understands he is under contract with the Angels and certainly plans to honor his contract. Mo spoke candidly on the radio interview in Boston a couple weeks ago. At this point, we’re going to focus our attention on the Angels’ relationship.”

Angel General Manager Bill Stoneman said he felt much better about the situation following the meeting. “For now, he’s going to be back here, that’s pretty much it,” he said.

Charges that former Arizona Diamondback catcher Mike DiFelice punched a parking attendant and assaulted two women in a Pittsburgh nightclub were dropped.

DiFelice’s attorney, Samuel J. Reich, reached out-of-court agreements with two of the accusers--one of which filed a suit against DiFelice and another who was preparing to file another.

Reich wouldn’t elaborate on the settlement, but said, “everybody is happy and satisfied.”

DiFelice, 32, was arrested in August for allegedly punching a parking attendant after being thrown out of the Area 51 nightclub. Police accused DiFelice, released by Arizona in September, of assaulting the two women in the club.
