A stretch of Huntington Harbour was closed Thursday after a blocked pipe dumped 500 gallons of untreated sewage into the ocean.
The harbor near City Channel at Sea Harbour Drive and Coral Cay at Marinabay Drive will be closed for three days, authorities said. The closure is the 33rd this year in Orange County resulting from sewage spilling into ocean water.
In the latest incident, the sewage came from a blocked line at a strip mall near Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. The spill was reported at 6:20 a.m. and a plumber was called but did not arrive until 3 p.m., authorities said. Meanwhile, the sewage flowed down Pacific Coast Highway and into a storm drain.
